Many of the various hardware control interfaces are based on archaic
mechanical components with rudimentary computer control and require
extensive upgrades before they will be able to to function correctly
under SDIO control. The primary functions currently envisaged as
being under computer control in Phase 2 are :
-
Full control of all Noise Diodes ie. including current Noise Adding Diodes,
 -
Full control of all Dicke Switches (utilising Noise Diode Controllers).
 -
IF input signal select to Mark I Pulsar Timer System,
 -
Front-end RF (1612/1665/VLBI/1720) filter selection at L-band,
 -
Left and Right IF input signal selects to Spectroscopy Receiver Systems,
 -
Back-end internal IF filter selects within General Purpose Radiometers,

Tasks still to be done :
-
 - DESIGN AND BUILD NOISE ADDING DIODE DRIVER INTERFACE,
 -
 - DESIGN AND BUILD DICKE SWITCH DRIVER INTERFACE,
 -
 - DESIGN AND BUILD SWITCHING RELAY DRIVER INTERFACE,
 -
 - WRITE DEVICE CLASSES FOR SELECTS TO BE BUILT INTO SDIO SERVER.
